Dealing With Tire Repairs Without Having To Take Your Car To A Shop

Posted on

Mobile tire service is not a new idea, and many large truck tire services have offered it for big rigs that have tire problems on the highway. Bringing the same kind of service to passenger cars and trucks is becoming popular, and it can save a significant amount of time when you have a tight schedule.

Tire Repair

Tires are one of the more vulnerable parts of your vehicle, and if you have a flat, the only option is to put on a spare or repair the damaged tire. If you are not comfortable changing your tire, you may need a mobile tire service to come to you and replace or repair the tire.

The tire service will come to your location with a van or truck with all the equipment and tools required to fix the tire on your car or replace it with a new one. The service can put the spare on for you so you can get where you are going and replace the tire later if that is a better option, but when you request the mobile tire service to come and help you, they can get some information and often bring a replacement tire that is a perfect fit for your car.

If the tire has a small puncture in it, the tech may only need to plug the tire for you, but they will inspect it for damage beyond the puncture to ensure the tire is safe to drive on after the plug is installed.

Scheduling Tire Service

Many mobile tire service companies have started to schedule tire work similarly to what mobile glass companies do. The tire service can set up a time to come to you and install new tires on your car without you ever going into the shop.

The tire service can come to your home, meet you at work, or do the repair work at some other location that you arrange with them in advance. Most mobile tire service providers have well-stocked vans that include tire mounting and balancing equipment in the back and a large array of jacks and tools that allow them to quickly change the tires on your car or truck while it is parked.

It is essential to check with your employer to ensure the repair work can be done on the property if you are having a mobile tire service come there to change a tire for you. Some companies will not allow it for insurance reasons, so you may need to move the car off the property until the work is complete.
