3 Ways To Get A Good Deal On Your New Car

Posted on

If you are getting ready to buy a new Chevrolet vehicle, there are some things that you can do that will help you get the best deal possible for you. Doing these things before you go in and even start talking to the salesperson will make it easier for you when you are ready to talk to the salesperson about getting the car you want.

Comparison Shop

What you need to do before you do anything is narrow down which cars you want. There are all kinds of styles and models out there, so it can be overwhelming when you are trying to decide what you want to get. If you spend a little bit of time at home looking at all the various cars and finding out what you like or dislike about them, you can pinpoint your top three picks. Once you have those picks, you can start looking around at the prices of the cars at various places. Make sure that you figure out what features are standard and use those in your comparison so that you are comparing apples to apples and not apples to kumquats.

Set Yout Top Budget

Make sure that you set the absolute top amount that you are able to pay. You don't want to tell any salesperson what that number is because that number is power. When you are negotiating, you are going to want to start well below that so that you can work your way up toward your top budgeted price.

Practice Saying No

This can be a hard thing to do. It's often much easier to agree with the salesperson and getting whatever they suggest, but that can run up the price that you are paying on the car. What you might want to consider doing is some role-playing with a friend, family member, or your significant other. They can say things that the salesperson may say, and you can practice saying no and redirecting the negotiations back to what you want. It doesn't matter if this is your first car payment or your twenty-first, it will never hurt to prepare by doing a little role-playing and practicing to say no.

If you are going to by a new car, it may feel overwhelming since there are so many different options out there. But, with a little work, you can find the car that you want at the price you want to pay.
